The Ministry of Health of Indonesia has announced a new case of human 

infection of H5N1 avian influenza. A 21-year-old male from Jakarta 

Province developed symptoms on 18 Sep 2007, was hospitalized on 25 

Sep 2007 and died in hospital on 28 Sep 2007.



The investigation found that the case was an egg seller in a 

traditional market. All of the contacts remain healthy, where they 

will continue to be monitored for 10 days after their last contact 

with the case.
